//the playmix group and i have been hard at work banging out a pre-summer mix to get people in the mood to take off their clothes. see, this time of year can be frustrating for those of us in so-cal. while the inland sun is hot and ready to go, once you're at the beach you find gray, hazy clouds hanging tenaciously above the water, frustrating your desire to tear off your clothes and scream "ARRRGH SWEET HOT SUMMER COME AND GET ME!!"

//anyway// as a preview of this tan-tempting mix check out these two winners from deastro. he's a 22 year old multi-instro dreamy shoe-gaze electro pop upstart from detroit, and he is, in my opinion, the best thing going in that city right now. ...besides fiat (benvenuti boys!). this is beautiful geek music at its finest. a 4-eyed skinny white boy playing alone with his casio. if you're anything like me then you'll love this little detail: he used to perform as deastro THE DAWNTREADER. as in...
